Yes. Gotta Tap is completely free, with no purchases and no ads. It is a non-commercial fan project.
Do I need to download anything?
No. Gotta Tap runs in any modern browser on a computer, tablet or phone. The apps are optional, for people who prefer an app icon. You do need an internet connection to play.
Why isn’t it on Google Play?
Gotta Tap is a free fan-made game, so it is shared directly from this website as an APK file instead of through an app store.
Is the APK safe?
The APK is the same game as the browser version, packed as an Android app. It asks for no special permissions. Android warns about every app that isn’t from Google Play — that is expected.
Does my progress sync between devices?
Yes. Your game lives on your account: log in with your e-mail on any device and carry on, one device at a time. There is no password, just a code sent to your e-mail.
Does it progress while I’m offline?
Yes, for up to 24 hours: your team keeps earning money at half speed on the route you left on, berries keep growing and free card packs keep arriving. On a computer the game keeps playing normally in a background tab.
Is this an official Pokémon game?
No. Gotta Tap is a free, non-commercial fan-made game. It is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by Nintendo, Game Freak or The Pokémon Company.
What do other players see about me?
The trainer name you choose, your team, badges, Pokédex, numbers and titles, on the leaderboards and on your public profile. Never your e-mail.
